Peru 2016 (South & North)
This was the second AGS trip to Peru in March-April 2016
We started in Arequipa to get used to the altitude. We drove to Chivay where we stayed several days to explore some of the surrounding mountains. Then to Cusco and Ollantaytambo where we botanized on two high mountain passes not much explored before by botanists. Afther this we flew from Cusco to Lima and by bus to Caraz in the Cordilliera Blanca. We drove up to four high mountain passes and found many new and beaultiful plants. A very rich area which has to be explored much more in the future.
