2019 Tibet, Lijiang to Lhasa

From June 22nd till July 13th 2019, I lead a group on a botanical tour to Tibet, starting in Lijiang and driving the Yunnan-Sichuan Tibetan Highway nr. 318 all the way to Lhasa. I did the same trip in 2008 and 2009. Many years it was not possible for foreigners to visit this part of Tibet so I was excited when I heard that this part of Tibet was open for foreigners again. The whole trip is about 1900 km and during this we saw many different scenery, habitats and plants. Ten years ago most part of the road was dirt track, but now all the way paved roads and new tunnels are build. Not only the roads have been improved, but also the hotels.
This trip is for me one of the best trips ever. The stunning scenery and special plants are just amazing.
